| due process | no body can take away your life, freedom,or property without a trial or your right to be heard |
| arraignment | the procedure during which the judge reads the fomal charge against the defendant and the defendant pleads guilty or not guilty |
| habeus corpus | legal term which requires the law to show why you are being held in jail |
