pre-rna copy has to be edited before it can be proper rna
guanine cap very front of pre-rna, helps bind to ribosome
poly-A tail rna has tail made of adenines. cytoplasm wants it dead so bad, so adenine gets cut up instead of rna
introns removed in editing
exons determine protein structure. keeping some and removing others makes different proteins from same gene
