initiative a process that enables citizens to bypass their state legislature by placing proposed law or amendments on the ballot
federalism system of government dividing power between a central or national government and state governments

Supremacy Clause constitutional principle that states that federal law takes precedence over any conflicting state law
Florida Declaration of Rights the part of Florida's Constitution that lists the rights of citizens
bicameral lgislature a lawmaking branch that is made up of two parts, or chambers
act a federal (national) law
