Trapezius occipital bone and spinous process of C1-T12 scapular spine, acromion, and lateral clavicle elevates, retracts, and rotation of scapula, extends head when stabilizing scapula. shrugging shoulders is using the upper part of trapezius
Latissimus Dorsi spinous process of T6-L5, iliac crest, inferior angle of scapula intertubercular sulcus of humerous at shoulder for arm extension, adduction, and medial rotation (think lat pull downs at gym or wide grip pull-ups)
Pectoralis Major sternal end of clavicle, sternum, costal cartilage of ribs 1-6/7 intertubercular sulcus and greater tubercle of humerous adducts and medially rotates arm (think "pec fly's" at gym, assists in pushing during bench press)
Pectoralis Minor ribs 3-5 coracoid process depresses shoulder, assists in expanding ribs during deep inspiration
Serratus Anterior ribs 1-9 medial border of scapula protracts shoulder
Rectus Abdominis (Abdominal Muscles) pubic crest and symphysis xiphoid process and coastal cartilage of ribs 5-7 flex trunk at lumbar region, stabilize pelvis when walking
External Oblique (Abdominal Muscles) ribs 5-12 linea alba, pubic and iliac crest lateral flexion and rotation of trunk, assists rectus abdominis in trunk flexion
Internal Oblique (Abdominal Muscles) iliac crest, inguinal ligament, lumbar fascia linea alba, pubic crest, ribs 8-12 lateral flexion and rotation of trunk, assists rectus abdominis in trunk flexion
Transverse Abdominis (Abdominal Muscles) inguinal ligament, iliac crest, lumbar fascia, ribs 6-12 linea alba and pubic crest compress abdominal contents
Deltoid lateral clavicle, spine and acromion of scapula deltoid tuberosity adducts and medially rotates arms, assists in arm extension at shoulder
Supraspinatus (Rotator Cuff) supraspinous fossa greater tubercle arm abduction
Infraspinatus (Rotator Cuff) infraspinous fossa greater tubercle rotates arm laterally
Teres Minor (Rotator Cuff) lateral dorsal scapula greater tubercle rotates arm laterally
Subscapularis (Rotator Cuff) subscapular fossa lesser tubercle rotates arm medially
Teres Major posterior surface of inferior angle of scapula lesser tubercle extends, medially rotates, and adducts arm
Rhomboid Major spinous process T2-T5 medial border of scapula stabilize and retract scapula
Rhomboid Minor spinous process C7-T1 medial border of scapula stabilize and retract scapula
Biceps Brachii short head coracoid process, long head supraglenoid tubercle common tendon into radial tuberosity flexes and supination of forearm
Triceps Brachii long head at infraglenoid tubercle, medial and lateral head at the posterior shaft of humorous common tendon to the olecranon process extension of forearm
Brachialis anterior humerus coranoid process flexes forearm
Brachioradialis distal humerus radial styloid process assisting in flexing forearm
Gluteus Maximus doral ilium, sacrum, coccyx gluteal tuberosity and IT band extension of thigh
Tensor Fasciae Latae iliac crest and ASIS IT band flexes and abducts thigh
Biceps Femoris (Hamstrings) linea aspera and ischial tuberosity head of fibula and lateral condyle of tibia flexes leg at knee and thigh extension
Semitendinosus (Hamstrings) ischial tuberosity tibial shaft flexes leg at knee and thigh extension
Semimembranosus (Hamstrings) ischial tuberosity medial condyle of tibia flexes leg at knee and thigh extension
Rectus Femoris (Quadriceps) ASIS patella to tibial tuberosity extends leg at knee
Vastus Lateralis (Quadriceps) linea aspera patella to tibial tuberosity extends leg at knee
Vastus Medialis (Quadriceps) linea aspera patella to tibial tuberosity extends leg at knee
Vastus Intermedius (Quadriceps) femoral shaft patella to tibial tuberosity extends leg at knee
Sartorius ASIS medial proximal tibia flexes, abducts, lateral rotation of thigh
Gastrocnemius medial and lateral condyles of femur calcaneal tendon to calcaneus plantar flexes foot
Soleus tibia and fibia calcaneal tendon to calcaneus plantar flexes foot
Fibularis Longus fibular head/lateral fibula 1st metatarsal and medial cuneiform foot extension and plantar flexion
