federal judges get their job by being- appointed by the president AND being confirmed by the us senate

appellate jurisdiction- the power to review a decision of a lower court case
us supreme court- (only 1) final say in all court cases, 9 justices/NO jury, limited original and appellate jurisdiction
us court of appeals- (13 total) panel of 3 judges/No jury, appellate jurisdiction ONLY- reviews decisions from district courts
us district courts (94 total) 1 judge, with or without a jury, original jurisdiction ONLY- all federal cases START here
