Cranial Cavity Skull and brain

Thoracic Cavity hear, lungs
Visceral pleura tissue layer directly lining lungs
Parietal pleura tissue layer lining thoracic cavity around lungs
Pleural cavity space between visceral and parietal pleura; filled with serous fluid
Mediastinum Space between lungs and heart
Visceral pericardium tissue layer directly lining heart
Parietal pericardium layer surrounding heart cavity
Pericardial cavity space between visceral and parietal pericardium; filled with serous fluid
Diaphragm muscle that separates thoracic cavity from abdominal cavity
Abdominopelvic cavity Abdomen
Visceral peritoneum Tissue layer that directly covers most abdominal organs
Parietal peritoneum Tissue layer that surrounds most abdominal organ cavities
Retroperitoneum Organs behind parietal peritoneum (rectum, kidney, pancreas)
Oral/buccal cavity mouth cavity
Nasal cavity Nose cavity
Orbital cavity eye cavity
Middle ear cavity Where the auditory ossicles are
