| Internal Administration | Drugs that can be taken internally through inhalation |
| Inhalation | Bringing medication or substances to the respiratory tract |
| Intradermal | Into the skin or subcutaneous (under the tissue ) |
| Intramuscular | Injection directly into the muscle |
| Intranasal | Substance going into the nose |
| Intraspinal | Directly injected into the spin |
| Intravenous | Injected into the vein |
| Oral | Forms such as tablets or powders, swallowed orally then goes to the stomach |
| Rectal | Inserted through the rectum |
| Sublingual/Buccal | Placing dissolving agents on the tongue absorbed by mucous lining |
| External administrations | Medications administrated externally |
| Inunctions | Oily or medicated substances to be absorbed into the skin |
| Ointments | Drugs applied for a long lastial topical medication, goes onto skin |
| Pastes | ointments with a non fat, spread on skin |
| Plasters | spread on skin, used to relive pain, increasing circulation decreasing inflammation |
| Transdermal patches | Placed onto the skin to be absorbed by your skin slowly |
| Solutions | Holds a medication |
