| Sagittal Plane | Divides the body into right and left halves. |
| Alarm Reaction | The “fight or flight” stage where the sympathetic nervous system is activated |
| Sphenoid Bone | Butterfly-shaped bone at skull base; forms part of cranial floor |
| Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) | Increases blood calcium by stimulating osteoclasts |
| Ceruminous Glands | Modified sweat glands that produce earwax |
| Hypodermis | Subcutaneous layer of fat and connective tissue beneath the dermis. |
