Organs in the Body Systems

TermDefinition
Circulatory/Cardiovascular System Transport oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste products throughout the body via the heart, blood, and blood vessels.
Respiratory System Facilitates gas exchange by bringing oxygen into the body and releasing carbon dioxide.
Digestive System Breaks down food, absorbs, nutrients, and eliminates waste.
Urinary System Removes waste from the blood, helps maintain fluid and electrolyte balance, and includes the kidneys and bladder.
Endocrine Produces and secretes hormones that regulate the body's growth, metabolism, and sexual development.
Nervous System A complex network including the brain, spinal cord, and nerves that coordinates and controls bodily functions.
Integumentary System Forms a protective outer barrier and includes the skin, hair, and nails.
Skeletal System Provides support for the body and protects internal organs. It consists of bones, cartilage, and ligaments.
Muscular System Responsible for body movement, maintaining posture, and producing heat. It includes skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscles.
Lymphatic System Defends the body against infection by managing fluid levels and protecting against foreign invaders.
