Deep situated more internal
Sagittal Plane divides the body into left and right portions
Transverse Plane divides the body into superior and inferior portions
Coronal Plane divides the body into anterior and posterior portions
Integumentary System contains the skin, hair, and nails, the largest organ in the body, main function is protection against outside pathogens.
Skeletal System main function is support and works with another system to allow movement of the body
Muscular System main function is voluntary and involuntary movement of the body
Nervous System transmits action potentials as a way for parts of the body to communicate with one another
Cardiovascular System Transport oxygen and nutrients throughout the body through blood vessels
Respiratory System Exchange gases between tissues in the body
Digestive System Breakdown food and absorb nutrients
Excretory System Filter blood and remove wastes from the body
Endocrine System Produce hormones and regulate hormone levels
Lymphatic System Produce antibodies and an immune response to protect the body from pathogens inside the body
Reproductive System Produce sex cells and nurture a developing offspring.
Distal body part is farther away from a point of attachment to the trunk
