What is the primary function of appendicular muscles? To move and support the limbs.
What are the three layers of connective tissue found in skeletal muscles? Epimysium, perimysium, and endomysium.
What are the major functions of the nervous system? Sensory input, integration, and motor output.
Which type of neuroglia are found only in the peripheral nervous system? Schwann cells and satellite cells.
What are the six major divisions of the brain? Cerebrum, cerebellum, diencephalon, midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata.
What gland secretes insulin and what type of cells produce it? The pancreas; beta cells of the pancreatic islets.
What are the main components of the cardiovascular system? Blood, heart, and blood vessels.
What are the two primary functions of lymph nodes? Filtration of lymph and activation of immune responses.
Which structures are involved in gas exchange in the respiratory system? Alveoli.
What are the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system? Sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions.
