Sternocleidomastoid The sternocleidomastoid (SCM) muscle is a prominent, paired muscle located in the front of the neck. It plays a key role in head and neck movements.
Latissimus Dorsi a large, flat muscle on the back that stretches to the sides, behind the arm, and is partly covered by the trapezius on the back near the midline.
What is the function of trapezius? The main function of the trapezius muscle in the neck and across the shoulders is to move the shoulders (scapulae). How-ever, when the occipital bone acts as the insertion, the trape-zius can help extend the neck.
diaphragm A thin, dome-shaped muscle located below the lungs and heart that separates the chest and abdominal cavities.
Areolar tissue other name: Loose fibrous connective tissue
Adipose Tissue It differs from loose fibrous connective tissue, mainly it contains predominantly fat cells, also called adipocytes, and many fewer fibroblasts, macrophages, and mast cells.
Axon the long threadlike part of a nerve cell along which impulses are conducted from the cell body to other cells.
Dendrites a short branched extension of a nerve cell, along which impulses received from other cells at synapses are transmitted to the cell body.
Fascia The term fascia is a general name for the fibrous connective tissue masses that can be seen by the unaided eye in many locations throughout the body.
What is immune system The immune system is a complex network of organs, cells, and proteins that protects the body from infections and other harmful substances.
