Amendments to the US Constitution

| 1st | freedom of speech, press, religion |
| 2nd | right to bear arms |
| 3rd | no quartering of soldiers |
| 4th | must have warrant to search |
| 5th | Self incrimination (don't have to tell on yourself) |
| 6th | right to a speedy trial or lawyer |
| 7th | right to a jury trial |
| 8th | no cruel or unusual punishment |
| 9th | rights not listed in the constitution do exist |
| 10th | any right not listed in the constitution are up to the states |
| 11th | prohibits citizens of one state or foreign country from suing another state |
| 12th | separation of the president and vice president onto two different ballots |
| 13th | abolishes slavery |
| 14th | citizenship, due process, equal protection |
| 15th | This amendment granted black men the right to vote |
| 16th | Federal Income tax |
| 17th | Direct election of senators |
| 18th | Prohibition |
| 19th | Women's Suffarage |
| 20th | Presidential term statrts January 20th |
| 21st | repeals prohibition |
| 22nd | two terms for president |
| 23rd | District of Columbia - people can vote for president |
| 24th | ends poll taxes |
| 25th | succession President ---- Vice President----Speaker of the House of Representatives |
| 26th | Voting age 18 |
| 27th | Congressional pay raises can't go into effect until after the next congressional election |
