What is the anatomical position, and why is it important? The anatomical position is when a person stands upright, faces forward, with arms at the sides and palms facing forward.
What are the four basic tissue types in the human body? Epitheilial tissue, connective, muscle, nervous tissue
What is homeostasis? Homeostasis is the bodys ability to maintain a stable internal enviorment.
What are the main functions of the skeletal system? Provides support, protects the internal organs, allows movement, stores minerals, and produces blood cells
How do muscles contract? When the nerve signals cause thin and thick filaments in the muscle fibers to slide past each other.
What are the main parts of the central nervous system? The brain and spinal cord make up CNS. They process information and control most of the body's functions
What is the funtion of th e respitory system? brings oxygen and removed carbon dioxide through breathing
What are the major organs of the digestive system? Mouth, esophogus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder
What is the largest organ in the human body? The skin.
How is blood pumped through the body? pulomonary and systematic
