| Sagittal Plane | The anatomical plane that divides the body into left and right sections. |
| Homeostasis | This is the condition of equilibrium (balance) in the body's internal environment. |
| Metabolism | This is the sum of all chemical processes that occur in the body. |
| Superior (Cranial) | A directional term meaning “toward the head or upper part of a structure.” |
| Humerus | The bone of the upper arm between the shoulder and the elbow. |
| Vertebrae | The series of small bones forming the backbone, divided into cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions. |
