What are the levels of organization? Chemical, organelle, cellular, tissue, organ, organ system, organism
What are the directional terms used in anatomy? Superior, inferior, anterior, posterior, lateral, medical, proximal, distal, superficial, deep
What are the planes of the body? Coronal, sagittal, transverse, oblique
Differentiate between pH & hydrogen ion concentration in Acids and Bases Bases - pH is above 7, hydroxide ions increase Acids - pH is below 7, hyroxide ions decrease
What subatomic particles carry a charge? Electrons and protons
What does the atomic number tell you? The number of protons in the nucleus
Name subatomic particles. Proton, neutron, electron
What is the most abundant element essential to life? Carbon
What is the structure within a cell that contains genetic material and is referred to as the "command center"? Nucleus
What structure within the cell is known as the powerplant of the cell and is the site of ATP production? Mitochondria
Which organelles float in the cytoplasm and attach to the endoplasmic reticulum? Ribosomes
