arid can either mean dry, like a desert OR something that is boring and meaningless.
poignantly in a way that evokes a keen sense of sadness or regret.
retribution punishment inflicted on someone as vengeance for a wrong or criminal act.
bravado a bold manner or a show of boldness intended to impress or intimidate.
fury wild or violent anger.
perverse showing a deliberate and obstinate desire to behave in a way that is unacceptable, often in spite of the consequences.
squalor the state of being extremely dirty and unpleasant, especially as a result of poverty or neglect.
incongruency in a way that is not in harmony or keeping with the surroundings or other aspects of something.
contrition the state of feeling remorseful
stoicism accepting what you cannot control and focusing on what you can
turbulence violent or unsteady movement of air or water, or of some other fluid. Can also mean a time of conflict or confusion.
amorphous without a clearly defined shape or form.
elusive something, someone, or even a thought that is difficult to find, catch, or achieve.
illusive something deceptive or even imaginary
uproariously something done in a way that is extremely noisy and boisterous, often accompanied by a great deal of laughter and shouting
skein can refer to a coil of yard OR a complicated situation that needs to be unraveled.
