SAT-Unit 6- The Ballad of Birmingham

ballad a poem or song narrating a story in short stanzas. Poems in this style often have a songlike quality.
freedom march a march organized as a protest against a political entity for its oppressive policies, which are often directed at a minority group.
sacred connected with God and holiness
clasped grasp (something) tightly with one's hand.
frocks a woman's or girl's dress.
gleamed shine brightly, especially with reflected light.
polished shiny as a result of being rubbed.
debris scattered pieces of waste or remains.
rubble waste or rough fragments of stone, brick, concrete, etc., especially as the debris from the demolition of buildings.
wrenched pull or twist (someone or something) suddenly and violently.
