TermDefinition
Usurer A person who lends money at an extremely high rate of interest to desperate people.
Termagent Typically used for women, it means a hostile, harsh-tempered, overbearing person.
Propitiate To gain someone's favor (whether God or just another person) by doing something you think would please them.
Ostentation A pretentious and vulgar display. Showing off wealth to gain people's attention or to impress them.
Parsimony Extreme unwillingness to spend money or use resources. Stingy!
Deliberation A long and careful discussion. Ex. A jury will do this before they give a verdict.
Prowess Being skillful at something
Quagmire A soft, swampy area that gives underfoot
Censurer Someone who is critical of someone or something else.
