| Providence | Under the divine protection/care of God |
| Vindictive | A strong, unreasonable desire for revenge |
| Corroborate | To confirm or give support to something/someone |
| Goody (historical use) | A title affixed to a woman's surname. Means "Good Wife" |
| Poppet | An affectionate term for an adorable child. A doll. |
| Lechery | Excessively lustful |
| Callously | Treating someone coldly or cruelly with disregard for their feelings. |
| Effrontery | Confidence that is seen as shocking or bold by others and is inappropriate socially. |
| Contentious | Something that causes arguments and disagreements among people |
| Adamant | Stubbornly refusing to change your mind. |
