TermDefinition
Peripheral resistance Resistance to blood flow imposed by force of friction between blood and the walls of its vessels.
The Pharynx is also known as The throat
Fever A state of abnormally high body temperature.
Thymus Primary organ of the lymphatic system.
Arterioles Smallest arteries.
Capillaries The microscopic vessels that carry blood from arterioles to venules.
Electrocardiogram (ECG) A graphic record of the heart's electrical activity, its conduction of impulses.
Hematocrit The volume percent of RBCs in whole blood.
Retina The innermost coat of the eyeball.
Diencephalon The part of the brain located between the cerebrum and the midbrain. ("between the brain")
