TermDefinition
What is digestion? The process that breaks down food into small molecules so they can move into the blood stream.
What are enzymes? Molecules that speed up the reactions in your body.
What is peristalsis? Is a wave like contraction of the muscles in the digestive system. This movement propels food and waste products through the body.
What is COPD? COPD is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease which blocks the airflow in the lungs and makes it difficult to breath.
Antibodies are proteins of the family called? immunoglobulins
what is lymphoma? A tumor of the lymphoid tissue.
cardiac output is determined by? stroke volume and, heart rate
how many layers of the skin are there and name them? (3) layers epidermis, dermis,hypodermis
What is Keratin? Keratin is an intracellular fibrous protein that gives hair nails and skin there hardness and water resistance properties.
What is the main artery in the heart. The Aorta
