Respiratory system

What is the primary function of the respiratory system? To distribute air and exchange gases ( oxygen and carbon dioxide)
why can't cells exchange gases directly with air? Because most cells are too far from the air, so gases must travel through blood.
Which two systems work together to exchange gases in the body? The respiratory system and the circulatory system.
What role do alveolar ducts play in the respiratory system? They open into alveoli and serve as gas exchangers.
What are alveoli and what is their functions? Alveoli are tiny air sacs in the lungs where gas exchange occurs.
Besides gas exchange, what are other functions of the respiratory system? it filter, warms and humidifies air.
How does the respiratory system help with communication? It helps produce sounds and enables speech.
What is the role of special sensonry epithellium in the respiratory tract? It allows the sense of smell.
How does the respiratory system help maintain homeostasis? It helps regulate the pH level in the body.
What part of thr rrspiratory systrem filters, warms, and humidfies air? The upper respiratory tract ( including nasal cavity and pharynx)
