| Line-item veto | a power that allows a president, governor, etc., to officially reject specific parts of a proposed bill without rejecting the entire bill |
| Council of State | ten elected officials, each serving as the chief executive of their respective departments |
| Ordinance | a local law or rule created by a municipal government |
| Municipality | a city or town that has corporate status and local government. |
