I am made in the adrenal cortex. I target the kidneys when blood pressure needs to be higher. aldosterone

I am produced in the ovaries. I have many targets in the female reproductive system, one is the uterus. I trigger the uterine lining to build up prep for pregnancy. I regulate secondary female sex characteristics, breast development and hair growth. estrogen
When sunlight is in your eyes, your pineal gland does not produce me; however, when your eyes do not receive light, the pineal gland produce me! I cause you to feel calm and sleepy. As the sun rises in the morning, my production fades and you wake up. melatonin
When a woman is pregnant, I target the uterus muscles and initiate contractions of the uterus. After a woman has had her baby, I target the breast tissue and cause milk to flow from breasts. I don’t cause milk to be produced… just to flow. oxytocin
My nickname is T4. I am produced in the thyroid gland. I am the inactive form of thyroid hormone. I convert into another hormone when the thyroid gland releases me into the bloodstream. thyroxine (inactive thyroid hormone)

When your blood sugar is too low, I am released from the pancreas. I target your liver cells and trigger them to release sugar into the bloodstream. This makes the level of sugar in your blood raise! glucagon
