Political Parties

TermDefinition
Political Party A group of citizens/voters that have similar views & work together to elect candidates into office.
The Two Major Parties in the US Democrat & Republican
A Third Party Smaller political parties with less support or influence than the two major parties.
Candidate A person who you are able to vote for in an election
The 12th Amendment The amendment requiring both President & Vice President to be elected together by the Electoral College
Propaganda Information that is usually one-sided used to convince/ persuade or spread a specific message, idea, or political point of view.
Political Parties formed because .. disagreements about how to run the country.
The main goal of a political party To get candidates elected into government.
Political Parties change because .. to reflect the issues and citizens of the current time.
Why the Democratic Party formed To get like-minded citizens behind one party or person.
Why the Republican Party formed Wanted to end slavery in the United States.
