TermDefinition
Cell The basic unit of life.
Organ A structure made of different tissues working together.
Atom The basic unit of matter.
Ionic Bond A bond formed by the attraction between oppositely charged ions.
Nucleus The control center of the cell containing DNA.
Mitochondria The "powerhouse" of the cell, producing energy.
Epithelial Tissue Tissue that lines surfaces and cavities, involved in secretion and protection
Melanin A pigment in the skin that determines skin color.
Bone A rigid connective tissue that makes up the skeleton.
Osteocyte A mature bone cell trapped within the bone matrix.
