Sebaceous Glands Produce sebum (oil) to moisturize skin

Osteoblasts Bone-building cells
Osteoclasts Bone-destroying cells (for remodeling)
Compact Bone Dense, strong bone tissue
Synapse The gap between neurons where signals are transmitted
Neurotransmitter Chemicals that send signals between neurons
Reflex Automatic response to a stimulus
Receptor Specialized cell that detects stimuli (e.g., light, sound)
Hormone Chemical messenger secreted by glands
Arteries Carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart
Veins Carry oxygen-poor blood back to the heart
Antibodies Proteins that recognize and neutralize invaders
