Neuron cell body Regulates the functioning of the neuron
Axon Carries electrical impulses away from the cell body
Dendrites Carry electrical impulses towards the cell body
Synapse Transmits impulses from one neuron to others by means of chemicals
Neurotransmitters Transmits impulses across the synapse
Neuroglia Form myelin sheaths within the central nervous system and can not regenerate.
Schwann cells Forms myelin sheaths within the peripheral nervous system and can regenerate.
Synapse Space between axon of one neuron and the dendrite or cell body of the next neuron
Neurotransmitters Chemicals released by axons
