TermDefinition
Science Science is the investigation and exploration of natural events and of new information that results from those’s investigations.
Life science Life science is the study of living things is life science or biology.
Physical science Physical science is the study of energy and matter, it includes both physics and chemistry.
Inference An inference is a logical explanation of an observation that is drawn from prior knowledge or experience.
Observation Observation is the act of using one or more of your senses to gather information.
Prediction A prediction is a statement of what will happen next in a sequence of events.
Hypothesis A hypothesis is a possible explanation for an observation that can be tested by scientific investigations.
Scientific law A scientific law is different from a social law, which is an agreement among people concerning a behavior.
Scientific theory Often the word theory is used in casual conversations to mean an untested idea or opinion.
Critical thinking Critical thinking is comparing what you already know with the information you are given in order to decide whether you agree with it.
