Renal arteries arise from aorta at: Upper margin of L2
Gonadal arteries branch from aorta at: Lower margin of L2
Aorta bifurcates at: Level of L4
Common iliac veins unite to form IVC at: Level of L5
IVC passes through caval hiatus at: Level of T8
External & internal iliac veins join to form common iliac at: level of SI joint
Common iliac artery bifurcates into internal & external iliac arteries at: Level of disc between L5&S1
Hepatic portal vein formed behind neck of pancreas at: Level of L2
Esophagus deviates left at: Level of T7
Esophagus passes though diaphragm at: level of T10
Umbilicus located at: Level of disc between L3&L4
Transpyloric plane intersects pyloric region of stomach at: Level of L1
subcostal plane (lowest part of rib cage) located at: Level of L3
Transumbilical plane located at: Level of L3-L4 disc
Spinal cord ends at: L3 at birth; L2 in adults
Interiliac plane (most superior part of iliac crests) located at: Level of L4
Transtubercular plane located at: Level of L5
Diaphragm (when supine) extends superiorly to: Level of 5th intercostal space
Caval hiatus at: Level of T8
Esophageal hiatus at: Level of T10
Aortic hiatus at: Level of T12
Celiac artery arises from Ao at: Level of upper margin of L1
Superior mesenteric artery arises from Ao at: Lower border of L1
