Excretory system
Terms of the excretory system and their definition.
| Term | Definition |

| kidney | There are two. They are bean-shaped organs that receive blood from the renal arteries and exits through the renal veins. |
| nephron | Unit in the kidney that utilizes four processes to alter the blood which flows to it: filtration, reabsorption, secretion, and excretion. |
| ureter | There are two. They are tubes that propel urine from the kidneys to the urinary bladder. |
| bladder | Hollow muscular organ that collects and stores urine from the kidneys before disposal by urination. |
| urethra | Tube that connects the urinary bladder to the urinary meatus for the removal of urine from the body. |
| renal arteries | They transport blood from the heart to the kidneys. |
| renal veins | They transport blood from the kidneys to the heart. |
