Appendix | Small projection connected to cecum; you can live without it; stores healthy bacteria |
Ascending colon | Part of the LI that is going up |
Trnsverse colon | Part of the Li going across the body, parallel to the ground; most mobile part of the LI |
Descending colon | Part of the LI that is going down |
Sigmoid colon | S shape; section that takes waste to the rectum |
Rectum | Storage for indigestable material |
Anal Canal | Feces go through this to the anus |
Anus | A hole in which fecal material/waste can exit the body |

Gall Bladder | Attached to the underside of the liver; waters down bile; sends bile to duodenum |
Pancreas | Sits behind the stomach; ULQ; provides insulin; irregulates metabolism; burns carbs into glucose |
Alimentary Canal | Long muscular tube; begins at the mouth and ends at the anus |

Appendicitis | Inflammation of the ppendix; can burst; may require appendectomy |

Diarrhea | Passing of frequent, watery, or bloody bowel movements; usually accompanies GI disorders |
Diverticulus | Inflammation of a diverticulum(out-pounching off the gut) epecially in the colon; often results when food becomes within the pounch |
Gastroenteritis | Inflammation of the stomach and the small intestine |
Hemmorhoids | Verricose Veins in the rectum and anus |
Hepatitis | Inflammation of the liver; usually due to a viral infection |
Hernia | Bulging of an organ/tissue though an abnormal opening |
Pancreatitis | Inflammation of the pancreas |
Peritonitis | Inflammation of the membrane lining and the abdominal wall |
Ulcer | A sore that develops on the lining of organs; caued by stomach acid |
Ulcerative Colitis | Chromic inflmmatory condition resulting in numeous ulcers; Inflammated Bowel Disease |
Cholelithiasis | 2 or more gall stones in the bladder |
Anorexia | Eating disorder causing people to obesses over their weight |
Cleft Lip | Openings/splits in the roof of the mouth/lip |
