What is the typical administrative control flow for forces assigned to combatant commanders? From the combatant commanders to their respective service branches.
Who is at top of the league command chain for all U.S. armed forces? The President of the United States.
What is the role of the secretary of defense in the U.S. Armed Forces’ chain of command? To oversee the department of defense and advise the President on military matters.
