Spleen

Small set I made for the spleen for a project

QuestionAnswer
Capsule The outer portion of the spleen
Trabeculae Extensions of the spleen that make up the skeleton of the spleen
Afferent lymph vessels Lymph vessels that drain their lymph into the spleen for filtration
Efferent lymph vessel Lymph vessel located in the hilum that drains lymph out of the spleen.
Reticular fibers Fibers that extend from the trabeculae that form a network of connective tissue
White pulp Connective tissue of the spleen that contains lymphatic tissue, which surrounds arteries in the spleen
Red pulp Connective tissue that contains blood cells and capillaries
Lymph nodule Contains germinal centers for lymphocyte creation
