pituitary adenoma a tumor in the pituitary gland usually from increased GH secretion
gigantism a result of increased GH secretion in children
acromegaly a result of increased GH secretion in adults causing enlarged extremities, facial features, and overgrown tissue
panhypopituitarism underactivity of the pituitary gland
diabetes insipidus a lack of ADH secretion from the pituitary gland causes polyuria and polydipsia
congenital hyperthyroidism decreased thyroid gland secretion during development that can cause deficiencies if not treated
Graves disease the most common form of hyperthyroidism resulting from autoimmune complications
exopthalmos bulging eyes a common symptom of Graves disease
goiter an enlarged thyroid gland
tetany muscle spasms as a result of low calcium levels
Addison disease hypofunction of the adrenal cortex resulting in electrolyte imbalances, weakness, irregular pigmentation, etc.
Cushing syndrome an excess of adrenal cortical hormones associated with obesity, weakness, and hirsutism
Cushing disease Cushing syndrome caused by an increase of ACTH production
