Simple Squamous Epithelial, 1 layer flat cells, inner surface of the eardrum, secretion
Simple Cuboidal Epithelial, 1 layer cubed cells, some have microvilli or cilia, kidney tubules, secretion and absorption in kidney
Simple Columnar Epithelial, 1 layer tall, narrow cells, may have cilia, goblet, or microvilli , bronchioles of lungs, movement of particles
Psuedostratified Epithelial, 1 layer but looks multi-layered, cilia/goblet cells, lining of nasal cavity, secrete mucus into free surface
Stratified Squamous(keratinization) Epithelial, multi-layered, flat cells toward surface, surface cells are dead, epidermis, resists abrasion
Stratified Cuboidal Epithelial, multi-layered, sweat gland ducts, secretes sweat and saliva, surface cells are square or round
Stratified Columnar Epithelial, multi-layered, tall/thin cells, resting on more cuboidal cells, cells ciliated in the larynx, protection
Transitional Epithelial, change from round to flat when stretched, multilayered, bladder, protection against the caustic effects of urine
