| Constitutional Convention | -Address the problems of a weak central government which is under the Articles of Confederation |
| Electoral College | -Decides who will be the elected president and vice president of the United States |
| Great Compromise | -Established the U.S legislature as a bicameral law making body |
| New Jersey Plane | -Secured the power of the small states limiting each state to one vote in congress |
| Ratification | -Approval of agreement by the state |
| 3/5 Compromise | -It determined that three out of every five slaves was counted when determining a state's total population for legislative representation and taxation. |
| Virgina Plan | -Outlined a strong national government with 3 branches |
| Article V | -Explains how the constitution can be changed |
| Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) | -States are free to determine their own standards for education and its achievements. -While giving protection to students with disadvantages |

| Separation of power | - The division of government responsibilities into distinct branches to limit any one branch from exercising the core functions of another |
| Stakeholderes | -An individual or organization that has an interest in the program |
| Advice and consent | -Gives the Senate the responsibility to advise the president about nominees and the authority to consent to (approve or reject) those nominations. |
| Impeachment | -The process of bringing charges against a government official for wrong doing |
| Pocket Veto | -An indirect veto of a legislative bill by the president or a governor by retaining the bill unsigned until it is too late for it to be dealt with |

| Veto | -A constitutional right to reject a decision or proposal made by a law-making body. |
