What is the main function of central nervous system? To collect and process information and send messages to the body to act accordingly.
What is the main function of the peripheral nervous system? To connect the central nervous system to the limbs and organs.
What are the major glands of the endocrine system? The hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, islet cells of the pancreas, adrenal glands, testes in men, and ovaries in women.
True or False? The cardiovascular system helps maintain a constant body temperature. True
What are the vessels of the cardiovascular system? The heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins.
What happens if the lymphatic system isn't working properly? Fluid can build up in tissues causing swelling called lymphedema.
True or false? The lymphatic system does not help your body absorb fats. False
What is the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide called? Respiration
What separates the lungs from each other? The mediastinum
How does the esophagus assist in digestion? Uses peristalsis to push food down your esophagus into your stomach.
