What is the main goal of neoliberalism, and what is the purpose of this goal? Neoliberalism's main goal is an unrestrained, capitalist free market. the purpose is to maximize economic growth and general freedom.
What does neoliberalism prioritize? competition, privatization, profit, and deregulation
What are some defining factors of neoliberalism? More emphasis on individuals and competition amongst those individuals. Social darwinism. Denies social good, civic responsibility, and public service
What areas of life has neoliberalism been spread to apart from just economics? Government, social, healthcare, education shaped by free market principles
From a neoliberalism viewpoint, if an individual encounters any type of problem, what should they do about it? The problem is their fault, so it is fully up to them to come up with a solution
From a neoliberalism viewpoint, if an individual can solve a problem on their own, how are they seen? What if they can't? If they can solve the problem, they are seen as successful. If they can't, they're seen as lazy.
Does neoliberalism see racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, and classism as real issues? no, these are all individual and private matters that need to be overcome by the individual
Does neoliberalism think that racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, and classism are current or past issues? Past, they are rare and isolated incidents that are a thing of the past.

Neoliberalism is promoted as expanding economic growth for everyone. Is this actually the case in practice? No, it has actually consolidated financial gains and power in the hands of those who are already very wealthy
In practice, has neoliberalism actually followed through on limiting social/political control of government corporations? No, because of privatization of prisons in the US, a small % of people in power have more money b/c of the for-profit system
What is "neoliberal feminism"? Privileged women representing feminism and neoliberal ideals while also reinforcing discrimination against marginalized women.
Why is neoliberalism unrealistic in terms of gender and sexuality? Neoliberalism expects people to fall into gender and sexuality norms, which are social constructs that limit individuality and freedom of expression.
What are the three main schools of analysis on neoliberalism? Neo-marxist, Neo-foucaultian, and State-transformation
What is neo-marxist? focus on upward redistribution of economic resources from poor and working classes to elites
What is neo-foucaultian Focus on neoliberalism as a cultural project in which market rationalities become embodied by self-regulated, self-responsibilized subjects
What is state-transformation? focus on neoliberalism as a mode of statecraft entailing a shift from the welfare state to the carceral state
