What is intersection? Location of an unknown point by successfully occupying at least 2 known positions on the ground and then map sighting on the unknown location.
What is resection? method of locating ones position on a map by determining the grid azimuth to at least 2 well defined locations that can be pin-pointed on a map.
How many mils are in a circle? 6400
What is Grid North? North as established by using vertical grid lines on a map.
How many Norths are there? Grid, Magnetic, True
How do u obtain a back azimuth? if the azimuth is more than 180 degrees you subtract 180 and if its less than 180 degrees you add 180.
How do you read a map with a protractor to determine grid? Right and Up
How many mils are in 1 degree? 17.7mils
What are the 5 major terrain features? Hill, Valley, Ridge, Saddle, depression.
Where will you find the legend on a map? Lower left margin.
What are the supplementary terrain features? cut and fill.
How Close will an 8,6, and 4 digit grid get you on a map? 10 meters, 100 meters , and 1000 meters.
