The Female Reproductive System

Overies The female sex organ.
Rugae The folds of the inner lining of the vagina. Allows the vagina to expand during childbirth.
Uterus a pear-shaped, hallow, muscular organ that houses the fertilized ovum(female egg).
Myometrium the middle muscular layer of the uterus.
Endometrium the innermost layer of the uterus.
Perimetrium the outer most serous membrane layer of the uterus.
Fallopian Tubes the uterine tubes or the oviducts, serve as passageway for the ova (eggs) to travel to the uterus.
Internal genitalia consists of the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes, and the overies.
