What is the main function of the integumentary system? Maintain homeostasis and help protect the body. Can maintain by regulating temperature, sensory/pain sensors, oil production to keep water proof; keeping fluids in and others out.
What does the axial skeleton include? Skull, Spine, and Ribs.
What is the main function of the skeleton? Support movement and produce new cells in the body.
What are some different kinds of muscles? Smooth (organs, arteries, veins, and body muscle, skeletal (connects bone to muscle, and cardiac (heart muscle).
What is the smallest unit of the human body that can carry out all life processes? The cell is the smallest unit of the human body that can carry out all life processes.
What is the function of the mitochondria in human body cells? The mitochondria are responsible for producing energy for the cell through cellular respiration. They are often referred to as the "powerhouses" of the cell.
What is the role of enzymes in the human body? molecules that act as catalysts for chemical reactions in the body, increasing the rate of the reaction without being consumed in the process. Enzymes are essential for many physiological processes, including digestion, metabolism, and cellular signaling.
What is the most abundant element essential to life? Carbon
What is the structure and function of DNA in the human body? a double-stranded molecule that contains the genetic code for all living organisms. serves as the blueprint for protein synthesis and is essential for cell division and the passing of genetic information from one generation to the next.
What are the three microscopic glands in the skin? sweat, sebaceous, and ceruminous glands.
