Cranial Nerves

olfactory sensory; handles sense of smell
optic sensory; carries impulses for vision
oculomotor motor; controls 4/6 muscles that controls the eye
trochlear motor; controls one of the eye muscles
trigeminal both sensory: sensation of the skin motor: chewing muscles
abducens motor; controls the 6th eye muscle
facial both motor: facial expressions/ activates tears and saliva glands sensory: taste buds
vestibulocochlear sensory; balance (vestibular) & hearing (cochlear)
glossopharyngeal both motor: pharynx (swallowing/ saliva production) sensory: taste buds
vagus both; from the upper and lower throats and motor and sensory for abdominal organs
accessory motor; activates the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscles (neck muscles)
hypoglossal both; controls tongue movement
