Term | Definition |

engrossed bill | A bill that has been given final approval on third reading in one chamber of the legislature and still needs to pass the other chamber. |
enrolled bill | A bill that has been passed by both the Senate and the House and has been sent to the president for approval. |
concurrent resolution | An expression of opinion about the rules that govern both houses; requires the approval of both the House and the Senate, but not the president |
joint resolution | a proposal that passes both houses in identical form and could become law when signed by the president |
junket | a trip taken by an official often times for pleasure at public expense |
public bill | a bill dealing with general matters and applying to the entire nation |
pocket veto | A veto taking place when Congress adjourns within 10 days of submitting a bill to the president, who simply lets it die by neither signing nor vetoing it. |
