Transverse tubules Membranous channel extending inward from muscle fiber membrane
Sarcoplasm Cytoplasm of muscle fiber
Fascia Network of connective tissue that extends through muscular system and surrounds and separates muscles and other structures
Perimysium Layer of connective tissue that separates muscle in the small bundles
Cisterna Enlarged portion of sarcoplasmic reticulum on either side of transverse tubule
Aponeuroses Broadsheet of connective tissue that attaches covering adjacent tissue
Sarcolemma Cell membrane of muscle fiber
Epimysium Layer of connecting tissue the closest surrounds skeletal muscle
Sarcomere Unit of alternating late and dark striations from z line to z line
Endomysium Layer of connective tissue that surrounds individual muscle fiber
Sarcoplasmic reticulum Cellular organelle in muscle fiber corresponding to endoplasmic reticulum
Tendon Core like part that attaches muscle to bone
Myosin protein found within a myofibril
Fascicle Bundle of muscle fibers
