Presidential Terms A term is 4 years. Total max years is 10 years.
The results of impeachment are Conviction or aquittal
What presidents have been impeached? Andrew Jackson, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump (x2)
How presidents chosen? The electoral college
What are expressed powers? Powers written in the Constitution
What are delegated powers? Powers expressed by Congress
What are executive agreements? Agreements made by the President with other countries, Congress doesn't have to approve
What is executive priviledge? Unwritten powers that the President claims he has
When do Presidents appear weakest? When they are dealing with Domestic issues
Expressed powers the President has are Commander-in-Chief, Top Diplomat, First Legislator, Veto, Chief Bureaucrat, Economist-in-Chief, and Head of State
What are executive orders? A presidential declaration that issues instructions the the Executive branch without any need for Congressional aprroval
What is the Executive Office of the President? The agencies that help the president accomplish day-to-day activities
What is imperial presidency? Where the presidency is characterized as having imperial traits and the republic is transforming into an empire.
How do Congress override a veto? By getting two-thirds vote in both chambers
What are political appointees? Top officials in executive agencies, appointed by the President
What is signing statements? Presidential declarations commenting on a bill that is being signed to become a law
