TermDefinition
Centrism Belief in not one left or right ideology, typically people who are centrist are moderate, or independent voters.
Citizenship The status of being a citizen of a nation who has rights, duties, & repsonsibilites.
Libertarianism Ideology focused on personal freedoms for citizens, and oppose government regulations of any kind.
Undocumented Immigrant AKA an illegal alien, a foreign nation who does not have legal permission to be in the USA.
Socialism Ideology of limiting economic inequality by having the government control most of the economic resources.
Ideology Set of beliefs about politics and society
Conservatism Ideology that believes in less government regulations on businesses, and reduce the size of government.
Naturalization The process by which non-native people become fully American citizens.
Liberalism Ideology that favors government taking an active role in tackling society's problems.
Lawful Permanent Resident AKA resident alien, a foreign national who has legal permission to live in the USA.
Environmentalism Ideology that believes government has the power to regulate industries to reduce pollution and attack climate change.
Green Card A permit that allows non-Americans the legal right to live & work in the USA.
Electoral Specialist Person who votes regularly & may volunteer during an election.
Civic Specialist Person who mainly volunteers in their community & donates to causes.
Dual Activist Person who does it all; They vote, volunteer, donate to causes, and are very engaged in politics and their community.
Disengaged Citizen Person who does not vote, and cares nothing about their community or society.
Citizen Person who is legally a member of a nation.
Fourteenth Amendment Defines American citizenship as "All persons born or naturalized in the United States."
Citizen Duties Tasks that must be performed by a citizen. Failure to do so results in punishment by the government
Citizen Responsibilities Tasks that citizens should do that make society better. No consequences for not doing them.
