Simple Cuboidal Epithelial tissue that consists of a single layer of cube-shaped cells.
Basement Membrane Layer of nonliving material that anchors epithelial tissue to underlying connective tissue.
Merocrine Glands A structure whose cells remain intact while secreting: type of sweat gland.
Holocrine Glands Gland whose secretion contains entire secretary cells.
Tissue Group of similar cells that performs a specialized function.
Stratisfied squamous Epithelial tissue made up of many layers of thin, flattened cells.
Simple Columnar Epithelial tissue that consists of a layer of cells that are longer than they are wide.
Glandualr Epithelium Epithelial tissue composed of cells specialized to produce and secrete substances into ducts or into body fluids.
Simple Squamous Epithelial tissue that consists of a single layer of thin, flattened cells
Endocrine glands Type of gland whose secretions have parts of secretory cells.
Transitional Epithelium Epithelial tissue that is specialized to change in response to increased tension.
Apocrine glands Type of gland whose secretions have parts of secretory cells.
Stratisfied Cuboidal Epithelial cells that consists of two or three layers of cuboidal cells that form the lining of a lumen
Epithelial Tissue that covers all external and lines all internal body surfaces. Varieties are classified by shape.
Exocrine Glands Gland that secretes its products into ducts or onto an outside body surface.
Psuedostratisfied Columnar Epithelial cells that appear to be stratified or layered due to nuclei laying at two or more levels.
Stratified Columnar Epithelial tissue that consists of several layers of cells that are columnar on top and cuboidal on bottom layer.
