Anatomy The study of the internal and external structures of the human body. Anatomy is a Greek word meaning “to cut apart.” Specialties include: Microscopic anatomy Macroscopic (gross) anatomy
cytology The study of cellular structures
histology. The study of tissue samples
Macroscopic Anatomy gross anatomy The study of the structures of the body visible to the naked, or unaided, eye Examples:::: The study of the skeletal system Looking at an x-ray (radiology)
Physiology Focuses on the function and vital processes of the various structures making up the human body
Critical Thinking Critical thinking is the analysis of facts to form a judgment. The subject is complex, and several different definitions exist, which generally include the rational, skeptical, unbiased analysis, or evaluation of factual evidence.
Pathophysiology is the study of disease.

Cardiology The study of the heart

Morbidity The measure of the disabilities and extent of problems caused by an illness
Anabolism Process by which simpler compounds are built up and used to manufacture materials for growth, repair, and reproduction
Catabolism Process by which complex substances are broken down into simpler substances
